Corporate Mission:
Whereas the sport of chess has been proven to improve academic ability through the development of thinking skill, memory, concentration and social interaction, this organization seeks to make those benefits available to children. The purposes of this organization include:
- To engage in, assist and contribute to the support of exclusively charitable, scientific or educational activities and projects, within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended;
- To support and host chess tournaments, camps, programs, and other events that promote chess for children, primarily focusing on elementary scholastic chess programs;
- To make the benefits of chess participation and education available as broadly as possible, without regard to means;
The directors are authorized in accordance with these articles and the bylaws adopted by the corporation to do any lawful act in furtherance of the above stated purpose.
